Home Front Panel

This panel, measuring about 120 cm x 70cm formed the centre piece of a touring exhibition which visited local libraries and council buildings before ending up as part of a permanent exhibition at Eden Camp.

It was created during an inter-generational project that the group undertook alongside teenage girls from the local Eastwood Comprehensive School. As the project was a Home Front project funded by the Lottery, it included reminiscence work and comparison of teenage lives in different eras.

The image is inspired by a poster produced during the 2 nd World War, encouraging women to help out in the Home Front, a responsibility which several of our group members had experienced.
